I love malt loaf, and I was 16 before I tasted one ! (don't ask how long ago that was!)
I would be interested to know the calories in a slice of this - with butter naturally !
By the way, referring to a recent post of yours, I've now planted some chick peas, and they have germinated and are now about 3" high and are looking good ! also some ordinary dried peas from the supermarket and they have germinated too, I will use them for salad 'sprouts'.

It's a bit late to change it now, it's on it's way to Brazil, but I will tell my friend to be careful of the pompom and that it can be easily cut off if it's a problem. Thanks for the alert! I did make the pompom myself, and I did do it tight and tried to pull a bit out myself and I couldn't, so hopefully it'll be alright.

Very neat work Sooz, but I'm a bit concerned about the bunnies tail ? if it is for a baby, he may 'suck' the tail and some threads could come away in his mouth - sorry, not criticizing, but it's the first thing I thought of when I saw it, speaking as a Mum and Grandmother.
The tails on the mice are much better, how about a 'bunch' of those instead of a pom-pom ?

You're supposed to be able to get a crop of green chick peas in a season, got the idea from James Wong's new book Homegrown Revolution, they're just supermarket seeds, wasn't sure if they were going to grow, but they have!

Hi, it all looks very spring-like ! a bit different from the snowy pics you posted only a short while ago.
I'm intrigued about the chick peas ? do you grow them as a decorative 'greenery' plant or for a crop ? I've never tried these ? and did you use ordinary chick peas from the supermarket or buy special ones for growing ?
I sprout them, they are delicious in a salad or stew.
